Frankie Valli and son Francesco have had their ups and downs in recent years.
Francesco is the eldest son of Valli and ex-wife Randy Clohessy. The Four Seasons frontman also shares twins Emilio and Brando with Clohessy. He and ex-wife Mary Mandel share daughter Antonia and late daughter Francine, who died in 1980. Valli was also the adopted father of Mandel’s daughter Celia from a previous relationship, who also died in 1980.
Valli and Francesco’s issues first made headlines in April 2024 after Emilio filed a restraining order against his brother. According to court documents obtained by People at the time, Emilio claimed that Francesco made threats against him and their father. The court approved the order for both Emilio and Valli.
“Frankie is saddened by these unfortunate events and appreciates that his privacy will be respected as he works out these family issues,” a rep for Valli told People at the time.
Two years later, Francesco was back in the news for a reported family dispute with Valli. According to People, Police arrived at Valli’s home in May 2026, although there was no evidence of a dispute and no official report was taken.

What Happened Between Frankie Valli and Son Francesco?
In April 2024, Valli’s younger son Emilio filed a request for a restraining order against Francesco on behalf of him and his father. According to court documents obtained by People at the time, Emilio alleged that Francesco attempted to break into their father’s home.
While awaiting police, Emilio claimed that Francesco “repeatedly physically threatened to harm or kill” him and Valli. Emilio also alleged that Francesco is “addicted to opiates.” Amid Francesco’s alleged struggles, Valli was supporting him financially on the contingency that he would enter a treatment program.
“Since cutting off [Francesco] financially, [Francesco’s] threats have escalated as well as the sale of personal property of our father, and increased attempts to access the property of our father,” Emilio wrote in the filing, per People.
Following Emilio’s request, a judge granted the request.
What Did Frankie Valli’s Restraining Order Against Francesco Entail?
After the temporary restraining order was approved, Francesco was ordered to have no contact with his dad or brother. He also was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from their homes, cars and workplaces. The restraining order is set to expire on April 29, 2027.
