“How you doin’?” Most of the Friends cast reunited on Sunday, January 24, for a previously announced TV event with creator James Burrows, but it turns out the afterparty was just as fascinating. Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow were all in attendance at a post-taping dinner at Sunset Tower, where an unexpected ghost of Aniston’s romantic past made an appearance.
The leads of the hit ’90s sitcom, minus star Matthew Perry (in London rehearsing for his play The End of Longing), taped the event and posed for a photo with the cast of The Big Bang Theory before heading to Sunset Tower for a group dinner together. Aniston wore a strapless gold and beige top with her hair pulled back. The group shared multiple order of truffle fries with ketchup.
Shortly after the group arrived, singer John Mayer, who dated Aniston, 46, from 2008 to 2009, showed up at the venue with pal Andy Cohen, an insider tells Us Weekly.
An eyewitness reveals to Us that Mayer, 38, sat at a table out of Aniston’s line of vision to have a drink with Cohen. The pals chatted for a while before the Bravo host got up and approached the Friends’ table.
The “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer stayed behind while Cohen talked with the group, not acknowledging that she was in the same restaurant.
Following his split from Aniston, Mayer went on to date fellow A-listers Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Aniston moved on as well, tying the knot with her longtime fiancé, Justin Theroux, in a secret ceremony in August 2015.
As for their upcoming televised event, the cast has remained relatively tight-lipped about the reunion, which will honor Burrows.
The two-hour special will air on NBC on February 21.
