George Clooney, “Son of a News Man,” Predicted the Sony Hacks in Leaked Email to Amy Pascal

Whiz kid George Clooney predicted the Sony hacks in a September email exchange with Sony Pictures chair Amy Pascal: "And for those of you listening in… I'm the son of a news man."

Well, this is very very meta. While top executives continue to deal with the fallout over the Sony hacks, George Clooney was seemingly prepared for the gross invasion of privacy, as revealed in a new email posted Thursday, Dec. 11, on Gizmodo.

Clooney, 53, predicted the hacks in a (leaked!) Sept. 5 email to Sony Pictures chair Amy Pascal, beginning with the subject line: “Knowing this email is being hacked.”

In the body, Clooney discusses an upcoming project with the embattled executive, where he carefully monitors his words. “How much fun are we gonna have…” he writes in the note. “The stakes are higher than citizen kane… if we tell the truth in a compelling way… rupert [Murdoch] wont’ get time/warner…cnn won’t be fox… I’m so excited to do this film..”

He then directly addresses the intruders in a rather hilarious bit. “And for those of you listening in…” Clooney writes, “I’m the son of a news man…everything will be double sourced..so come on with your lawsuits…f—ers…”

The recently married stud is, in fact, the son of retired ABC anchor Nick Clooney, 80, who hosted his own eponymous local morning show in Cincinnati in the ’70s.

The email’s recipient Pascal, meanwhile, had to issue an apology on Thursday, after her racially insensitive email exchange — in which she made fun of President Obama with producer Scott Rudin — was leaked.

“The content of my emails to Scott were insensitive and inappropriate but are not an accurate reflection of who I am,” the Sony head said in her statement. “Although this was a private communication that was stolen, I accept full responsibility for what I wrote and apologize to everyone who was offended.”
