Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane, who played lovable giant and loyal Potter protector Rubeus Hagrid in the movies, has been hospitalized.
Coltrane's agent told BBC News on Friday, Jan. 30, that the actor got sick during a British Airways flight en route to Orlando from London. The agent added that the star was "resting" and "would be fine," although no further details about Coltrane's condition was released.
According to TMZ, which first reported the news, Coltrane, 64, was immediately hospitalized after landing as he experienced "severe flu-like symptoms." Paramedics reportedly met Coltrane at the gate and took him to the hospital. On the same flight, reportedly, was Michael Gambon, who played Dumbledore in the movies.
The Harry Potter actors were traveling to Orlando for a global Harry Potter convention at Universal Studios.
Coltrane's agent added to BBC on Friday that any reports that the actor had been drinking heavily in the airport lounge were "completely untrue."
