Dames, they’re just like Us! On Thursday, Jan. 29, Dame Helen Mirren was photographed riding the R Train by Instagram user Jason Lowe. The Oscar-winning British actress, 69, displayed perfect posture, sitting up straight in her fur-trimmed coat with her expensive-looking taupe purse on her lap. She was also wearing some intense lilac-colored gloves.
She only took up a single seat, adhering to appropriate subway etiquette (did you expect anything less?), recently reinforced by talked-about new MTA ads.
“Well, that just happened | Dame Helen Mirren sitting across from me on the R train #helenmirren #subway #holycrap #NYC,” Lowe captioned his instantly viral photo.
Mirren is currently in New York starring as Queen Elizabeth II (again!) in the Broadway play The Audience.
Plenty of celebs have been caught taking the subway in recent months, including A-listers Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hanks.
