Airport security is the worst, right? Apparently not if you’re Karlie Kloss. The model took an artfully organized shot of her security bins, capturing the oh-so-luxe way she breezes by the TSA via Instagram on January 6.
As she headed for an international destination (her passport full of stamps) out of New York’s JFK airport, Kloss, 23, pretty much showed Us exactly what essentials to pack for an easy (and stylish) trip to the airport.
1. A savvy backpack
The NYU student has a monogrammed Burberry buckle backpack (that retails for $1,295), but any classic flap rucksack will do the trick. Along with any other extras she needs, it can carry everything else she has in the pic hands-free.
2. A cute miscellaneous bag
Kloss also has a cute, nautical-themed Cupid’s arrow zip-up, which would be perfect for loose charging cords.
3. A cross-body bag
Avoid wasted time digging for your essentials with a compact cross-body (like Kloss’ small green bag). Money, IDs and anything else you need at a moment’s notice while traveling will fit perfectly and not get lost at the bottom of a backpack.
4. Stylish headphones
Let’s face it, we all need headphones on the plane to drown out crying babies and warn off chatty neighbors. The Topshop brand ambassador tunes everything out in style with rose-gold headphones from Beats by Dre (which retail for $300).
5. Gadgets
IPads, cameras and other tech are safe and secure (not to mention guaranteed to arrive with you at your destination) in your carry-on.
6. Sneakers
Some celebs take to the sky in high heels, but Kloss is much more down-to-earth in her casual yet fashionable Adidas kicks. They’re easy to slip on and off for security, and they’ll help you in a pinch if you need to run to the gate.
