Their eternal love is official! After a whirlwind nine-month romance, Twilight alum Nikki Reed and Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder tied the knot April 26 at the Tuscali Mountain Inn in Topanga, California.
“Nikki originally wanted a small wedding,” a pal tells Us Weekly of Reed (who split from Paul McDonald in March 2014). “But Ian envisioned a big wedding. She was happy to let him call the shots.”
During the rustic affair, the newlyweds posed for photos on a hillside (he lifted her so her custom couture Claire Pettibone gown wouldn’t get dirty!) while guests, including his CW costars Kat Graham, Paul Wesley, Matt Davis, and Phoebe Tonkin dined at long tables adorned with white blooms and then danced to a band. Another sweet touch: In lieu of gifts, the parents of four dogs, three cats, and two horses asked for donations to the Ian Somerhalder Foundation for rescued animals.
Now the bride, 26, and groom, 36, will take a leisurely honeymoon. “Both of their schedules are pretty clear for a while,” says a source. “They’re planning an extravagant trip around the world!”
