The girl group formed in 1997 and eventually disbanded in 2006. The group originally consisted of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett. It adopted its best-known lineup, the trio of Queen Bey, Rowland and Michelle Williams, in 2000.

Destiny’s Child released a slew of hit singles such as “Bootylicious” and “Say My Name” over the course of four studio albums, including The Writing on the Wall and Survivor.

With the launch of their official Instagram last week, which the group’s official Twitter account tweeted about yesterday, October 27, fans can’t help but wonder what this means for the disbanded girl group. It has been 10 years since the group was officially together — though they briefly reunited for Beyoncé’s Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in 2013 — and it has been almost 20 years since the group came together for their self-titled debut album, which was released in 1998.

Some fans hope that the launch of the account points to a possible 20th anniversary reunion tour in the upcoming year, though there has been no official news to back that up.

“The rumours are starting again.. @destinyschild are now on Instagram. Can’t they just slay my life ONCE with a reunion tour?!” one fan tweeted on October 28. “Anxious enough to bite my nails. Putting some “just in case” money aside NOW!” another fan commented on one of the photos on the account.

The account has posted three throwback photos since it launched, all featuring the trio of singers. “‘Girl’ became the fifth Destiny’s Child single to earn a gold record from the RIAA on this day in 2005. #destinyschild #dc #girlgroup #girl #rnb#destinyfulfilled,” the poster wrote in a caption alongside a killer photo of Knowles, Rowland and Williams on October 21.

It seems like the group is using the account as a way to throw it back to major career highlights, including the release of their greatest hits album, #1’s, in 2005, and the release of their single “Soldier” in 2004.
