What are the chances? Jimmy Fallon proved that he’s still on the struggle bus to recovery after chipping his tooth while trying to open a tube of ointment for his injured finger. The Tonight Show host shared a photo documenting his latest mishap on Friday, Aug. 21.
“Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury,” the late night talk show host captioned a photo of himself looking woozy in a dentist’s chair, adding “#BestSummerEver.”
Fallon, 40, made headlines at the beginning of summer after nearly ripping his finger off while at home on June 26.
The comedian was hospitalized and had minor hand surgery — including a procedure that removed a vein from his foot to save his finger.
“So basically what happened is, I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves and I can’t wait to burn it to the ground,” he told his audience upon his return to the Tonight Show on Monday, July 13. “I tripped and I caught my fall… I’m getting up and my finger is sideways.”
“Basically what it is is that my ring got caught on the countertop when I was going down and stuck there and pulled my finger off,” he added.
The Saturday Night Live alum isn’t the only talk show host who’s been down for the count this summer, however. In July, Kelly Ripa broke her foot in four places during a workout class, and in August, Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, found himself in a cast too.
“Are you kidding me right now????????? WTF? Can’t make this s—t up,” Ripa captioned a photo of the couple sitting together miserably in matching foot casts, noting that Consuelos had a “small calf tear.”
