No secrets between them. Johnny Depp revealed on Thursday, Nov. 19, that he knew daughter Lily-Rose was sexually fluid before she came out.
“She’s got thousands of followers on social media, and they were all taken completely by surprise,” the actor, 52, told the Daily Mail. “But not me. I already knew because she tells me everything. She’s not afraid to say anything to me. We’re super tight and I’m very proud of our relationship.”
Rose, 16, announced to the world that she is sexually fluid back in August via Instagram. The model posed for The Self Evident Truths Project, and according to its founder, iO Tillett Wright, she does not identify as 100 percent straight.
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor also offered his immense praise for his daughter.
“Lily’s really together,” the proud dad gushed. “She’s a sharp kid and one of the smartest human beings I have ever met. And whatever she is doing, if she needs any advice, I am there for her. Kids are going to make their own decisions, but I guess the only thing that you can do as a parent is to offer support. And I do.”
Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, recently discussed being a stepmom to Rose and Depp’s 13-year-old son, Jack, telling Marie Claire how much she loves it.
“It’s an honor and the greatest, most surprising gift I have ever received in my life,” the actress told the mag in its December issue. “I feel new flavors that I didn’t know existed. New colors that I didn’t know existed have been added into my life. I’m so happy.”
Heard, 29, and Depp tied the knot this past February. Depp shares Lily-Rose and Jack with his ex, Vanessa Paradis.
