Trying to beat Kim K. at her own game! In an odd, yet amazingly awkward moment on Thursday, Feb. 5, The Daily Show posted a throwback video of longtime pals Steve Carell, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert baring their hairy chests (no, really!) and swaying for the camera.
“#TBT #breaktheinternet,” the caption read on the show’s official Instagram account. The hashtag, of course, refers to Kim Kardashian’s naked Paper magazine cover in November 2014. The image of her backside (and then frontal nudity!) caused the Internet to explode at the time with funny reactions and memes.
Stewart and his buddies may not have broken the Internet, but the short clip has caught the eye of many. In the video, the men wear matching black pants and belts while trying not to laugh. Stewart at one point even sticks out his bum and pouts his lips.
The Comedy Central star first shared the video during his “Moment of Zen” segment in October 2001. Today, fans are just as happy to watch it all over again.
“It’s like watching a monkey swallow a hand grenade, a horrible scene but you can’t help watching,” one commenter remarked on the Instagram page. A second added: “I need to report this clip as inappropriate. Inappropriately sexaaaay.”
