Justin Bieber needs his space. During an appearance on the Today show on Thursday, Sept. 10, the singer got visibly aggravated with one of the cameramen who was covering his performance of “What Do You Mean?”
The pop star, 21, was caught complaining about the crew member on live TV after singing his latest hit single in the plaza at New York City’s Rockefeller Center.
“Next time I won’t dance because the camera’s here the whole time. Might as well not dance. What do I do this for if they’re just gonna…” he said, before the show cut away to commercial.
Bieber also performed “Boyfriend,” “Where Are U Now,” “As Long As You Love Me,” and “Baby” for the Today crowd. He wore a baseball cap onstage, but took it off at one point to reveal his newly platinum blond hair.
After his show in the plaza, Bieber chatted with veteran anchor Matt Lauer about his career. Alluding to his tearful VMAs performance, he said, “It just feels so great to feel the acceptance…I just feel judged and it’s hard, but I’m feeling more confident lately.”
He went on to address his past mistakes and run-ins with the law. “Life goes in places you never expected,” he explained. “I’m just a young man trying to figure it out like everyone else.”
