Gone but never forgotten. Kanye West tweeted an emotional message to his late mom, Donda West, on Tuesday, July 12 — the date of what would have been her 67th birthday.
And as well as expressing his own love for the woman who tragically lost her life in November 2007, one day after undergoing elective plastic surgery procedures, the rapper also spoke about his daughter North West's desire to spend time with the grandmother she never met.

"Nori asked if the airplane could take her to heaven to see you for your birthday," West, 39, tweeted. "I love you mom," he added.
The Life of Pablo creator also shared a photograph of himself and his mom, taken many years ago.
As Us Weekly reported previously, Kim Kardashian's husband holds himself responsible for the loss of his beloved mother, an English professor who died at the age of 58.
In an interview with Q magazine in June last year, the Grammy-winning artist was asked what he's sacrificed in his life for his massive level of success.
"My mom," he replied, simply. "If I had never moved to L.A. she'd be alive," West continued of his beloved mother, who inspired his creative business DONDA. "I don't want to go far into it because it will bring me to tears."
