Well, it was casual Friday, after all! Kate Middleton dressed down for her third outfit change in one day following her sailing excursion with Olympic champ Sir Ben Ainslie in Portsmouth, England, on Friday, May 20.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 34, donned a black cable-knit sweater, black jeans and black sneakers with aqua-color shoelaces as she stepped out following the charity sailing event.
Her famous perfectly coiffed hair was even pulled back into a messy bun.
Earlier in the day, the mom of two donned waterproof gear and sneakers to sail on the team’s test boat T1 with Ainslie as part of 1851 Trust’s event, encouraging children to take up the water sport.
The daring royal steered the boat for about half the session, and the Olympic gold medalist tells Us he and his crew were in awe of her skills.
"We were all really impressed," Ainslie tells Us. "She's clearly done a fair amount of sailing before. She had a feel for the boat. It's a really high-powered racing machine, and to be able to steer one of those at close to 40 miles per hour for even a skilled sailor is a real challenge, and she did a great job."
"She really enjoyed it," he continued. "She certainly looked like she did. This is fantastic for the team to have her involvement and have her support."
Earlier in the day, Prince William’s wife donned an Alexander McQueen ensemble appropriate for the nautical occasion: a silk georgette blouse with navy blue piping and shiny gold buttons paired with a matching wool crepe pencil skirt.
