Tea and crumpets! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with William’s brother, Prince Harry, will host a dinner for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama on Friday, April 22.
“Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to welcoming President and Mrs. Obama to Kensington Palace,” a press statement confirmed on Monday, April 18.
The gathering will take place at the Duke and Duchess’ home in Apartment 1A. Earlier in the day, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will host the Obamas for lunch.
As previously reported, Prince William, 33, met with POTUS in the Oval Office in Washington, D.C., in December 2014, on his trip with Middleton, 34, to the United States. Prince Harry, 31, did the same last October.
Kate and William moved into their four-story, 20-room flat in summer 2013. It underwent a $1.5 million renovation and includes specific furnishings chosen by the duchess.
“Kate is keen to put her stamp on the place with things she’s bought on her travels,” an insider told Us Weekly back in 2012. The royal couple also wanted to make the move before they had their children, Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 11 months.
