Flaunt that bling! One day after announcing her engagement to boyfriend John Molner, Katie Couric gave a glimpse of her new diamond ring while attending the US Open in New York on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The 56-year-old veteran journalist and her soon-to-be husband were photographed watching the women's singles quarter final match between Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia and Victoria Azarenka of Belarus at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center together.
Wearing a white sleeveless top, Couric flashed her huge new accessory while tucking her hair back from her face. The gorgeous platinum ring appeared to be square-shaped and surrounded by smaller diamonds.
The talk show host has been dating Molner, an NYC-based financier, 50, for nearly two years. Couric's first husband, Jay Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998; she is mom to their two daughters Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 17.
"Yes it's true!" Couric tweeted Sept. 3 about her engagement to Molner. "So touched by all the kind Tweets & warm wishes-thank you! A great end to the summer & looking fwd to seeing you all Monday!!"
