Khloe Kardashian is having a really busy Thanksgiving. In a blog post on her website, she wrote that she is planning a special trip to visit estranged husband Lamar Odom and have "a hospital Thanksgiving" after she hosts her family for a traditional holiday meal.
The reality star, who told fans on Twitter on Wednesday, Nov. 25, that 2015 has been her "worst year" ever, wrote in her blog post that her family has been a tremendous support. "When times get tough, my family seems to thrive and band together. We find a way to always persevere. Rise above the ashes!! Without my crazy, chaotic, amazing family, I'm not sure how I could have gone through some of the things that I was tested with this year," she explained. "Every night I thank the Lord for blessing me with the world's best support system and team of unconditional love."
Kardashian, 31, is recovering from a nasty staph infection that had her quarantined at home and unable to see her family over the past week. It's believed she contracted the infection while caring for Odom, who has been hospitalized since being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel in October.
"I am someone who tries to always keep things in perspective. This year I have a deeper insight and possibly a deeper perspective now. I pride myself as someone who does live in the moment and as someone who shows gratitude in every corner," she wrote in the blog post entitled "Why I'm Extra Thankful This Thanksgiving."
Kardashian also shared pics of her preparations for Thanksgiving, and described her holiday menu, which includes mac and cheese, and green beans with smoked turkey legs (which she said takes six hours to make).
"I take my hosting duties seriously," she admitted. "My family is pretty large and extended. I cook and bake it all!"
"After our Thanksgiving dinner is over, I invite friends to join, especially friends who don't have family around," she added. "So we have a family Thanksgiving, a friends Thanksgiving, and this year I will also be having a hospital Thanksgiving."
