Khloe Kardashian opted out of her sister Kim Kardashian’s 35th birthday party on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Instead, a source tells Us Weekly that Khloe, 31, decided to stay by her estranged husband Lamar Odom’s side as he recuperates.
“Lamar isn't doing that well,” the insider explained to Us of the former NBA star, 35. “He can't stand up by himself. She is still very worried about him and uncomfortable with leaving.”
Kim was feted instead by the rest of her family with a surprise party orchestrated by husband Kanye West at Westlake Cinepolis theater in L.A.'s Thousand Oaks neighborhood. The party included a screening of Steve Jobs and had balloons in the shape of a “K” in honor of the birthday girl. Guests enjoyed snacks like churros and took photos in front of a white flower-covered wall.
As previously reported by Us, Khloe has remained by Odom’s side since he was hospitalized on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after being found unconscious at legal brothel Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nev. On Wednesday, Us confirmed that Khloe had her attorney Laura Wasser dismiss her December 2013 divorce filing as she and Odom give their marriage a second shot.
“This is a very delicate and difficult time for both Lamar and Khloe, and the most sensible thing to do at such a time is not make any big moves and put everything on hold,” an insider explained to Us of their decision. “So that’s what she is doing.”
“Khloe is committed to staying with [Lamar]," another source previously told Us. "It's a slow process, but Khloe is there every step of the way.”
