Kim Kardashian got candid in Cannes. The reality star, who is now happily married to Kanye West, admitted during an interview with The Drum on Friday, June 26, that she thought her career was “over” following her failed 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries.
“At the time when I was going through the divorce I did say to everyone, ‘You guys I think our careers are over. I hope you’ve saved your money. And now we’ll just continue to do our clothing stores and continue to do what we started off doing before the show,'” the social media maven, 34, recalled, looking back on her 2011 marriage to the NBA player. “I totally thought it was over.”
“I was being very paranoid,” Kardashian explained. “I just took some time off and the time was really good for me. I cancelled everything. I had a book tour, I had a fragrance launch, I had everything that you could possibly imagine and I just cancelled it all and I took time for me.”
As fans are well aware, Kardashian said “I do” to Humphries in a lavish Montecito, Calif., wedding in August 2011, after a quick 90-day engagement. After their E! special, Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, aired to 4.4 million viewers, the couple called it quits that October.
While addressing the split, Kardashian admitted she “got caught up with the hoopla.”
“I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have,” she wrote on her blog in November 2011.
The exes’ divorce wasn’t finalized until April 2013. In May 2014, Kardashian married West.
