Keeping up with Kris! The ninth season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians is set to premiere on Jan. 19 — and as Kris Jenner points out, some of the biggest drama will happen in the first few episodes. During an appearance on the TODAY show on Jan. 9, the family matriarch discussed her family's woes over the past year, her own separation from Bruce Jenner, Khloe Kardashian's impeding divorce, and (most importantly!) the former Olympian's ponytail. "We had been living apart. Bruce was living in Malibu, so I think [we decided] to just come out and say it formally to everybody at the same time," Jenner, 58, explained to Carson Daly on why the pair finally announced their separation to the world. "We're best friends. I mean, we talk all the time. Right now we're happier the way that we are right now."
Us Weekly exclusively broke news in October 2013 that Kris and Bruce, 63, decided to separate after 22 years of marriage. In footage shown during her TODAY sit-down interview, the exes are seen discussing the situation with Kim, Kourtney, Rob, Khloe and Kendall and Kylie Jenner in their living room.
"My family is so amazing, and there's a lot of love, a lot of support," the family's matriarch added. "So I think the decisions that we make individually we always seem to come together as a family at the end of the day."
Jenner may have already moved on from her recent breakup, but the road has been a bit more tough for her 29-year-old daughter Khloe. During the chat, Jenner also opened up about Khloe's Dec. 13 divorce filing from Lamar Odom, and the drugs and fidelity rumors that have surrounded their relationship.
"It's always tough when one of your kids goes through something like this," Jenner admitted. "My heart is always with them 150 percent, and Khloe — it's tough what she's been going through but we are just doing the best we can."
But something that's been a little harder to control? Bruce's ponytail! Shortly after the couple announced their split, the patriarch was photographed rocking the new do. "I tried to manage it! I think it needs its own manager," Kris quipped. "I think we've ganged up on him as a group. Kendall and Kylie are on the pony patrol as we speak trying to get rid of it."
