On Tuesday, December 29, the actor was booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center in L.A. after the Internet Crimes Against Children LAPD task force obtained a warrant and searched his home in Sunland, California, LAPD officer Liliana Preciado confirmed to Us Weekly. Lt. Grossman, commander of Los Angeles Regional ICAC, told Us that a concerned citizen tipped off the task force.

According to TMZ, investigators found more than a thousand images.

Salling was released after family members posted the $20,000 bail on Tuesday afternoon.

Us Weekly has reached out to the actor’s rep for comment.

The arrest could jeopardize his latest role in the upcoming film Gods and Monsters if he’s convicted.

"Today I was made aware of the serious allegations against Salling as a result of numerous media outlets hounding me as to whether he would remain in Gods and Secrets,” Adi Shankar, the film’s director, told Us in a statement on Wednesday. “I'm going to wait for all the facts to arrive and if in fact these allegations are true, I will immediately take action, which includes removing his scenes from the project.”

This isn’t Salling's first time running into legal trouble. In 2013, he was sued by ex-girlfriend Roxanne Gorzela for sexual battery and assault.
