Miley Cyrus is showering her new dog Emu with love—literally! The "Adore You" singer introduced fans to her new pup Emu this weekend, with a series of cute selfies of her and the dog. But the most bizarre by far was a picture posted late Sunday, June 29, via Instagram, showing her naked in a shower cap, with her pup!
The 21-year-old singer was devastated to receive news in April this year that her beloved dog Floyd had passed away while she was in Boston on her worldwide Bangerz tour. The controversial singer has publically mourned Floyd's death ever since on social media, even creating a shrine to the dog, complete with Alaskan Klee stuffed toys and an altar.
But on Saturday, June 28, Cyrus announced she was ready to move on and love again, and introduced fans to her new pup Emu.
"Time to start making Emu accounts smilers," Cyrus wrote as a caption to one of her snaps. "He's here and here to stay. I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago. Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I'm weird like that. It's taken some time to be ready for this next step and loving again."
"There will never be anyone like Floyd," she continued. "There was a bond that was so deep it's irreplaceable but that's not what I am trying to do. Never will I replace Floyd and that's something I had to take time to understand. We had a very special memorial service for Floyd and I felt my angel Floydy give Emu his blessing. I prayed to Floyd to just give him a touch of his awesomeness, and he has."
in true Cyrus style, the first days and pictures of her pup couldn't be predictable. Rather than posting pictures of her dog taking a walk or doing other normal doggie things, Cyrus decided to get naked, put on a bath cap, and take her dog for a shower!
Having earlier advocated the wisdom of letting your dog get dirty by playing in the mud, the singer captioned her crazy picture, "Ending the best day ever giving emu baby a shower in my bedazzled space cap."
