Miley Cyrus helped her ex-fiance, Liam Hemsworth, adopt a puppy over the weekend. The Hunger Games actor rescued a gentle-looking female dog from Wylder’s Holistic Pet Center and Rescue in L.A.’s Studio City neighborhood on Sunday, Nov. 15, after Cyrus flagged the adorable pup for him.
According to Wylder’s, Cyrus, 22, who is a big supporter of pet adoption, thought the dog would be a perfect fit for Hemsworth. “Miley sent him a ton of photos – Liam was asking for photos of the dog being held,” an employee for the pet rescue tells Us Weekly. “Liam got back from China and literally came right to Wylder’s to take the dog home. The dog is super gentle and sweet and took right to Liam, despite being afraid of men in the past.”
Hemsworth, 25, who stocked up on goodies for his new pal at the store and also made a donation, named the dog Dora after Dora the Explorer. According to the pet center, the children’s show is his nieces and nephews’ favorite program.
“Thanks @mileycyrus for loving dogs as much as we do!! You helped find this gigantic, 6 month old puppy a new home. @liamhemsworth you will give this deserving baby a great life!” the rescue center captioned a photo of Hemsworth grinning alongside Dora.
Cyrus also helped another pal, Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, add a new addition to his family on Sunday — the pair picked up a black and white dog named Yogi from the Bella Foundation.
