Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwarzenegger are taking a break after five months of dating, multiple sources tell Us Weekly. The news comes after the USC student, 21, and “Wrecking Ball” singer, 22, have been spending their free time away from each other following Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son’s wild spring break in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
According to one source, the couple, who first stepped out together this past November, haven’t been the same since pictures of Schwarzenegger and a friend getting extra close in Cabo surfaced online. “The scandal did its damage,” the insider tells Us. “They both saw sides of each other they weren’t pleased with but they were trying to make it work.” According to the insider, the cooled-off pair “still talk” but aren’t “as serious or committed as [they were].”
While the Kennedy heir has been spending his downtime partying with friends at Coachella the past two weekends, the singer has surrounded herself with family and friends and was busy getting back to work on Saturday, April 18, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony presented by Klipsch.
Cyrus and Schwarzenegger were last spotted out together on April 2 grabbing food at Los Angeles eatery Hugo’s. At the time, a source told Us that Cyrus had forgiven Schwarzenegger after he “begged for forgiveness” but that Liam Hemsworth's ex-fiancée “doesn’t put up with crap from guys."
