Back on stage! Two days after her divorce from Blake Shelton was finalized, a glowing Miranda Lambert took to the stage on Wednesday, July 22, joining her best friend Ashley Monroe for an album release celebration at The Basement in Nashville. Concertgoer Randal Peterson gave Us Weekly exclusive details on the "Over You" songstress, and her emotional highs and lows throughout the performance.
"It was so cool," Peterson tells Us. "Sam Palladio, Phillip Sweet, and Meghan Linsey were all there for the show, and Miranda came out during Ashley’s encore." (Palladio is a star on Nashville, Linsey was a contestant on The Voice, and Sweet is a band member of Little Big Town.)
Despite her split, the 31-year-old country star attempted to lighten the mood. "She made a joke about only having a dress from Target," the concertgoer tells Us, "and Ashley said she looked beautiful."
Indeed, Lambert looked stunning in a knee-length little black dress, accessorized with black cowboy boots. She stood on the stage, joining her BFF Monroe for a duet of her song "Has Anybody Ever Told You."
"They killed it," Peterson tells Us. "The whole audience was silent and really focused when Miranda started singing."
At one point, Lambert got slightly emotional. "[She] got a little sad when she first started singing the song, but looked over at Ashley and they both smiled," Peterson tells Us. "Miranda looked really gorgeous."
For her appearance on Wednesday night, Lambert styled her shaggy blonde hair in a straight bob, and adorned her LBD with chunky silver jewels. "I'll take the harmony," the singer told Monroe, looking a little nervous initially. But the country star soon got into her groove and seemed in great spirits as she sang and danced on stage, the only reminder of her recent love-life devastation being her completely bare left hand, unadorned with her usual diamond-encrusted wedding and engagement rings.
Smiling her way through her pal's love song, Lambert mouthed all the words, even when she wasn't singing. When the pair had finished their song, they gave each other a big hug and Monroe kissed her newly single friend on the forehead.
This was Lambert's first public appearance since she and ex-husband Shelton confirmed on Monday, July 20, that they were splitting. Shelton has shared several lighthearted tweets (unrelated to his romantic situation) since the couple's divorce was finalized later that day. Lambert has yet to break her silence on social media.
