Nicki Minaj is speaking about the man attempting to seize her $20 million Los Angeles mansion in an effort to collect on a $500,000 debt the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty, owe.

On Wednesday, October 15, Minaj, 42, posted a series of messages on X about her legal drama with Thomas Weidenmuller.

Weidenmuller, who worked as a security guard for one of Minaj’s shows in 2019, was awarded a default judgment against Minaj and Petty, 47, after they failed to respond to a lawsuit over an alleged assault by Petty backstage. As Us Weekly first reported, the alleged victim is making moves in court to seize Minaj’s home in Hidden Hills, California, with the hope that the proceeds will be used to pay the amount left on the mortgage and then him.

On X, Minaj reposted a fan’s message about the case. The fan wrote that Minaj and Petty were never personally served but Weidenmuller was able to post an advertisement in a newspaper. (The court did allow Weidenmuller to serve Minaj and Petty by placing an advertisement after his process server struggled to track down the duo.)

The fan argued the process by which Minaj was served could be “misused as a strategic tool rather than a last resort” for serving someone.

“It offers plaintiffs an advantage for default judgments if defendants miss the public notice, leading to automatic wins without case discussion. This method also risks public humiliation and harassment, turning legal matters into spectacles, especially with high-profile cases,” the message that Minaj reposted read.

Minaj appeared to claim she was never served or made aware of the lawsuit brought by Weidenmuller, writing, “I have evidence that this was given to a business [manager] who never told me. My lawyers AND business [managers] (old & new) are AWARE. Let’s see if they’ll speak up or if I’ll have to call them out by name. That same business [manager] STOLE from me MANY times.”

Minaj proceeded to post messages attacking Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation, who she has been writing about for weeks on social media.” They came BEGGING the QUEEN for a tour & album & I said NOPE!!!!! LMFAO. Wanted to patch it up. They needed help from the QUEEN & the BARBZ. I called the Barbz on the secret BARB phone & it was a resounding NOOOOOOOO. just like the casinooooooooooooooooooo. [Jay-Z] let me find out you gon let Desiree take the fall alone,” Minaj wrote.

The messages on X come hours after Us broke the story that Weidenmuller filed court documents demanding Minaj’s home be sold.

Minaj owns an 11-bedroom, 16-bathroom, 11,820 square foot home in Hidden Hills that she purchased for $19.5 million in December 2022.

In court documents, Weidenmuller said the home is worth an estimated $20 million at the moment. He said Minaj has a $13.2 million mortgage lien and another “$722,151 homestead exemption” for a total of “just under $14 million.” He said the home could be sold to pay off both the mortgage and the $500,000 he was awarded in his lawsuit.

“The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million, yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption. That amount is more than sufficient to satisfy the judgment, plus accrued interest and enforcement costs,” the alleged victim’s lawyer noted.

Weidenmuller said it was “regrettable” he needed to ask for the forced sale of Minaj’s home, but said this was the result of her not paying the debt.

“Minaj is a global music superstar, estimated to have a net worth of anywhere between $150-190 million, and is reportedly the highest paid female rap star in the world,” his lawyer pointed out. A judge has yet to rule.
