He sure is fancy! President Barack Obama proved (once again!) to America that he is the hippest leader of the free world ever, with a new cover of Iggy Azalea‘s smash single, “Fancy.”
The clip, which was released Tuesday, Aug. 5, features Obama in various settings as he addresses the nation’s issues. Only, this time, the montage of statements are edited to the lyrics of Azalea’s summertime hit, which includes lines like: “Pick it up, just like this.”
The brilliant cover, created by BaracksDubs, is one among many others, including Pitbull and Kesha‘s “Timber,” Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” and Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky.”
In an interesting collision of worlds, Azalea performed at Lollapalooza last weekend, where Obama’s eldest 16-year-old daughter Malia was spotted, checking out Chance the Rapper.
Back in October 2012, the hip and happening POTUS shared his music playlist with a local Cincinnati radio station WIZF.
According to Obama, his “presidential iPod” included “old school” favorites like James Brown and Bob Dylan. He told Us Weekly in his “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” in November 2012, “When I work out, I like to listen to Jay Z, Stevie Wonder and the Rolling Stones on my iPod.”
Azalea’s “Fancy” also recently received star treatment from Weird Al Yankovic, who created his own spoof of the song with “Handy.”
