Prince Harry helped Duchess Meghan keep calm! At London’s Trooping the Colour Saturday, June 9 — a birthday celebration for Queen Elizabeth, who turned 92 in April — the Brit instructed his wife where to look and when to curtsy, lipreading expert Phillis Mullins exclusively tells Us Weekly.
After asking if she was “OK,” says Mullins, “he is clearly reassuring her everything is going well.” Since joining the royal family in May, the former Suits actress has relied on Harry’s guidance. A source tells Us that “he’s been instrumental,” and that “she’s very excited about her new role.”
The Trooping the Colour parade was the couple’s first regal event since their two-week honeymoon, and Mullins reveals some additional support Prince Harry lent his new wife.
“Prince Harry is clearly trying to reassure Meghan that everything is going well,” Mullins tells Us. “Harry first looks at her and says ‘OK?’ Meghan then replies, ‘Yeah, are you?’
The lipreading expert then details that “Harry told Meghan about how the day would go, saying to her, ‘There is the fly-past and then we all look up to the sky…’”
“When the queen arrives Meghan asks Harry ‘Do it?’ and he says, “‘yes,’” Mullins revealed of the royal curtsy, adding that “Meghan can also be seen looking at someone, possibly Kate to her left and saying ‘hi.’”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot on May 19, inside St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The newly minted husband and wife exchanged vows in front of 600 guests before embarking on a full day of celebrations, including a luncheon hosted by the Queen, during which Sir Elton John performed.
The couple concluded their jam-packed day at a star-studded, intimate evening celebration at Frogmore House where they were surrounded by their closest family and friends.
