UPDATE: Galvin took to Twitter several hours after his curse-filled New York magazine Vulture interview was published to apologize for making “brazen and hurtful” comments.
“The entire interview I gave to Vulture has hurt the LGBTQ community and the industry I feel truly fortunate to be a part of,” he wrote. “My only intention was to try and empower and promote honesty, but I fully understand that comments I made were brazen and hurtful To Colton Haynes and to the LGBTQ youth, especially those who have embraced our show, I have no right to dictate how or when anybody comes out of the closet; I know how difficult and scary the process of coming out can be, and the last thing I would ever want to do is make it scarier. For anyone.”
ORIGINAL STORY: The latest celebrity feud is well underway. The Real O’Neals star Noah Galvin brutally slammed fellow gay actor Colton Haynes in a curse-filled chat with Vulture while discussing being a gay actor today in Hollywood.
The ABC star, 22, lashed out after the publication asked him about the Arrow actor. Last month, Haynes, 27, talked about coming out during an interview with Entertainment Weekly — but didn’t actually say he was gay.
“That’s not coming out. That’s f–king p—y bulls–t. That’s like, ‘Enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a d–k or two,'” Galvin told Vulture. “That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.”
Galvin revealed his sexuality to his mom in his early teens, but waited until a little later to tell others. “I had made the decision for myself that I was gay. I knew I was gay. I had settled the fact, but wasn’t sharing it with anybody at the time,” he said.
Galvin, who plays a gay character on The Real O’Neals, is currently dating around. (The actor claimed that he once lost out on playing a straight character because a producer said he was “too gay” for the part.)
“I’m seeing two people right now. I’m seeing a 24-year-old and I’m seeing a … I think he’s, like, 38. But it’s nice. I’m dating for the first time ever … I’m slightly capitalizing on the fact that I’m on a TV show, to a certain extent,” he explained. “Using my slight fame to be with sexier people than I normally could be if I wasn’t on a TV show.”
Dating has its downsides, though. “My dating life is already pretty s–tty because I look like a 12-year-old,” he said. “Gay boys my age are either club kids or they’re in college and they haven’t come out yet and they’re still DL on [the dating app] Grindr.”
Galvin’s candid interview didn’t end there. The actor, who doesn’t want to be a “f–king soothsayer” for the gay community, claimed that Bryan Singer invites younger boys to his home. In 2014, the X-Men director was accused of sexually abusing underage boys. The accuser later dropped the lawsuit.
“Bryan Singer likes to invite little boys over to his pool and diddle them in the f–king dark of night. I want nothing to do with that. I think there are enough boys in L.A. that are questionably homosexual who are willing to do things with the right person who can get them in the door,” Galvin told Vulture. “In New York there is a healthy gay community, and that doesn’t exist in L.A.”
