Nate Reid, a public information officer for the Colorado State Patrol, tells Us that the Revenge of the Nerds actor, 60, was driving along Route 145 last week when he struck a Honda semi-truck in his 2003 Mercury sedan.

The driver of the semi was uninjured, Reid says, but both Carradine and his passenger were "rushed to the hospital with serious injuries." No further details on their condition were immediately available.

According to TMZ, which first reported the accident, Carradine was cited for careless driving. The site reports that he crossed the dividing line before colliding with the truck.
