Grease is the word! The original Sandra Dee, Olivia Newton-John and the Grease: Live Sandra Dee, Julianne Hough, took a pic together on Monday, Oct. 19, after the Australian superstar served as a guest judge on Dancing With the Stars.
“Let’s welcome @therealonj to the @dancingabc ballroom! #dwts #olivianewtonjohn #grease #dancingwiththestars #dance,” Hough, 27, captioned the pic, standing alongside the “I Honestly Love You” singer.
Newton-John, 67, played the iconic role of Sandy in the 1978 film classic Grease, a role that Hough will be reprising in Fox’s upcoming Grease: Live.
“I’m not nervous in a terrified way,” the DWTS judge told Us of the gig back in July. “I’m nervous in an excited way. I can’t wait. Those are some big shoes to fill so it’s exciting, but it’s also a little nerve-racking. It’s such an iconic role. It’s an iconic musical. I want to do it justice. But I’m very, very excited.”
Fox announced in January that Hough, who has also starred in Footloose and Rock of Ages, would be playing Danny Zuko’s love interest in its first live production. Carly Rae Jepsen also revealed last month that she would be joining the production, playing Frenchy.
“Tell me more, tell me more!” the “Call Me Maybe” singer, 29, tweeted. “I’ll be joining the case of #GreaseLive as Frenchy!”
In addition to Hough and Jepsen, Vanessa Hudgens will join to play Rizzo in the live production.
Grease: Live airs Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 at 7 p.m. ET on Fox.
