Today show coanchor Savannah Guthrie is issuing a new plea as investigators continue to search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, nine months after her mysterious disappearance.

“Found this old drawing from my daughter today,” Savannah, 54, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, November 1, alongside a photo of a child’s picture of a rain storm, an umbrella and the words, “I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.” The morning show host also shared a throwback photo of her mother smiling for the camera.

“The world goes on, things appear ‘normal’ — as we try to keep going and be strong, especially for our young kids — but it’s not and it never will be,” Savannah continued in her emotional caption. “For Annie and Tommy, for Cam and Kristine, for Mike and me and for all of mom’s beloved grandchildren; we ache for her, we cry out for answers, we cannot move forward. We need someone to help us, tell us what you know.”

She added, “Our mom was a light in this world. We want to celebrate her and give her the dignity she deserves. The reward is still available. Please. We are begging you. Please help us.”

The 84-year-old Guthrie matriarch was last seen on January 31, one day before she was reported missing after failing to attend a virtual church service. Despite video footage taken from Nancy’s front door camera showing a masked man attempting to enter the premises, no suspects have been named at the time of publication. The Guthrie family received several so-called ransom notes demanding money in exchange for Nancy in the wake of her alleged abduction — some of which are believed to be authentic.

“There are a lot of different notes, I think that came,” Guthrie told friend and former Today cohost Hoda Kotb in a March interview. “But I believe the two notes that we received that we responded to, I tend to believe those were real.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department issued an update on the ongoing investigation into Nancy’s disappearance on Friday, October 30, confirming there remains zero suspects in the case.

“The Nancy Guthrie Task Force continues to work with our labs in hopes of furthering our DNA analysis in this investigation,” a statement from the department’s official X account read. “Earlier this month investigators traveled to Florida to meet with lab scientists to see what more could be done to advance the case.”

The statement continued, “A number of ideas were discussed, and we continue to work with all of our partners to solve this case.”

The department went on to urge the public to get involved in the investigation by sharing any information they know that may be relevant to the unsolved case.

“We want to remind the public that no tip is too small. Even the smallest piece of information could be critical to this investigation,” it concluded. “If you know something, please call 88-CRIME or 1-800-CALL-FBI.”

Guthrie, who has returned to the Today show after taking a weeks-long hiatus in the wake of her mother’s disappearance, has issued many passionate and emotional pleas for her mother’s return. The family has also offered a $1 million reward to anyone who provides information that leads to her discovery.

On Sunday, Guthrie ended her message by thanking those who have stood by and supported her family during this difficult time.

“Thank you to all those who have been kind and shown the best of humanity,” she wrote. “Join us in praying without ceasing.”
