The clip features Gomez, 22, in the same room as Bieber, 21, as they hang out with friends. Fans captured the Snapchat clip and posted it on YouTube moments later. In the video, Bieber, clad in a T-shirt and stylish hat, cracks jokes. His first love, meanwhile, looks casual in a hoodie. Gomez playfully sticks her tongue out at Wilkerson's phone as the preacher captures the scene.
Wilkerson, who notably made headlines last May as the "hot pastor" who married Kim Kardashian and Kanye West in Florence, retweeted a fan on Thursday who thanked him for the reunion clip. "Thank you for making a whole bunch of us happy tonight!" the fan gushed. "Keep doing what you're doing and don't listen to the negativity."
Both Bieber and Gomez regularly attend Hillsong services in New York and L.A., and have recently been spotted on social media increasingly hanging out with churchgoers. After a rough patch in 2014, Bieber told Ryan Seacrest in March that he was reformed and revamping his inner circle of friends to be better influences on his life.
"My circle of closeness definitely has changed for the better," Bieber noted, adding that his new pals have inspired his upcoming album — along with Gomez. "It was a long relationship that created heartbreak and created happiness and a lot of different emotions that I wanted to write about," Bieber recalled of his first love. "There’s a lot of that on this album."
For now, both Bieber and Gomez are single and loving it. "Single life is great," Bieber told Us Weekly this past January. "It's really given me time to focus on myself and my goals for the future. I love girls who can make me laugh, who are confident in who they are and who are honest and sincere. I don't have any dating plans right now. I'm just focused on getting back to work."
Until most recently, Gomez was linked to her "I Want You to Know" collaborator DJ Zedd.
