Shannon Elizabeth reportedly filed for divorce from husband Simon Borchert just days before announcing she was joining OnlyFans.
According to People, Elizabeth, 52, submitted the paperwork “in the last few days,” with a source calling the actress’ split from Borchert “rather fresh.”
The outlet reported on Thursday, April 16, that Elizabeth “wants to have a bit more freedom and be wild” now that she’s back on the market. Page Six also reported that Elizabeth is “freshly single” after separating from Borchert.
Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for Elizabeth for comment.
While the American Pie actress has not publicly announced her divorce, Us can confirm she recently changed her Facebook relationship status to “single.”
Elizabeth seemingly hinted at her new life phase via Instagram as well on Wednesday, April 15, reflecting on a recent reset.
“There’s something about the ocean that resets everything — slows the noise, softens the edges, and brings you right back to what matters,” the actress wrote alongside a photo of her with her dog. “Grateful for these quiet moments, sandy paws, and unconditional love. 💕✨.”
Elizabeth and Borchert, a conservation specialist from South Africa, met in 2015. The pair tied the knot in 2021.
The former couple worked together at the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation, which focuses on global wildlife conservation with an emphasis on endangered series. Beginning in 2019, Borchert served as chief executive officer.
Prior to her relationship with Borchert, Elizabeth made a name for herself in Hollywood in the mid-’90s. She is best known for playing the role of Nadia in 1999’s American Pie and “the sexy one,” Harriet, in 2003’s Love Actually.
From 2003 to 2009, Elizabeth had a recurring role on That ‘70s Show as Brooke Rockwell. She later played Tiffany Sherwood on Cuts.
She took a break from Hollywood in 2017, but since 2019, Elizabeth has popped up in several movies. Her main focus, however, has been on animal conservation.
Her most recent venture is OnlyFans, the subscription-based website known for its adult-only content.
Elizabeth announced her plans to launch her profile on Wednesday, telling People, “I’m choosing OnlyFans because it allows me to connect directly with my audience, create on my own terms, and just be free. I really do think this is the future.”
She revealed that fans could start subscribing to her page on Thursday. “I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career,” Elizabeth added. “This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans.”
