Elastic Heart or Mixed Message? Though many found Sia’s latest interpretive music video for her song “Elastic Heart” to be a moving piece of art, others saw an entirely different message. The dance-heavy video stars actor Shia LaBeouf and Dance MomsMaddie Ziegler (who also appeared in Sia’s famed “Chandelier” video).

Ziegler, 12, is in the same nude leotard she wore in “Chandelier,” while LaBeouf, 28, wears nude-colored underwear and nothing else. The two battle inside a cage. Several viewers found the images to be displays of pedophilia, and Sia, 39, took to Twitter on Jan. 7 to address the claims.

“I anticipated some ‘pedophelia!!!’ Cries for this video,” she tweeted. “All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play these two warring ‘sia’ self states.”

However, the musician, who chose not to appear in the clip as a part of her desire to avoid becoming a famous face, did acknowledge that the video could have brought up some painful feelings.

“I apologize to those who feel triggered by #ElasticHeart My intention was to create some emotional content, not upset anybody,” she wrote
