Katie Leclerc’s wedding was a Switched at Birth affair! As previously reported, the ABC Family actress wed her fiance Brian Stuart Habecost in a romantic ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 6. Now — after popping the champagne — the new bride is telling Us Weekly exclusively about her cactus-themed pink and yellow wedding, and if the newlyweds are getting ready to honeymoon.
Leclerc, 27, and Habecost said “I do” at Colony 29 in Palm Springs and were feted by most of the star’s Switched at Birth family, including her TV dad Gilles Marini. The couple posed holding hands outside the venue in one exclusive snapshot, surrounded by several cacti and yellow flowers. In a second photo, Leclerc again showed off her gorgeous Gustavo Cadile gown while holding a bouquet of pink blossoms.
“Brian and I are very outdoorsy so it was also bike-themed,” Leclerc tells Us. “The escort cards were our own version of [the game] Cards Against Humanity. We had a surprise first dance choreographed and the wedding party danced down the aisle. Generally, it was amazingly awesome.”
Leclerc and real estate agent Habecost first met through friends while she was still living in Texas. The bride admits they’ve “been inseparable” since she moved back to the west coast. They got engaged last November and now have some free time since Switched at Birth wrapped season 3 weeks ago.
Nonetheless, the pair are still a bit too busy to go on a honeymoon just yet. Leclerc adds: “We might sneak away to Catalina for a few nights.”
