Uh oh, there's a new kitty in town! Taylor Swift shared on her Instagram on Wednesday, June 18, she welcomed a new member to her family—an adorable, teeny white kitten!
The "Red" singer posted a photo of herself, wearing a crop top and skirt by Aqua, exclusive to Bloomingdale's, holding the cute blue-eyed feline, with the caption: "Meet Olivia Benson."
Sweet Olivia's arrival pleased everyone except for Swift's other cat, Meredith. When fans started pouring their love out for Olivia, Meredith's twitter account read: "Love me too pls," along with a crying cat emoji.
The 24-year-old's beloved cat's tweets didn't stop there.
Meredith's account then read: "But you are everything to me… I just wanna show you she don’t even know you… and you just see right through me." In an amusing third tweet, @MeredithKitty wrote: "And all the young things line up to take your plaaaacee…."
Olivia Benson is named after Mariska Hargitay's lead character on Law and Order: S.V.U., one of Swift's favorite shows.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, the blonde singer admitted if she could have dinner with anyone from a movie, book, or TV show, she'd choose Detective Olivia Benson.
"Detective Olivia Benson from Law and Order S.V.U. I sit in my apartment and watch hours of that show," Swift said, "So I sort of feel like me and Olivia are BFFs."
Swift also named Meredith in honor of Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, on one of her other favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy.
