Tay tops more than just the charts! Taylor Swift is No. 1 on DoSomething.org‘s annual Celebs Gone Good list for the fourth year in a row, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.
The “Bad Blood” singer’s charitable giving and sweet goodwill gestures have taken the 26-year-old singer back to the top spot of the eighth annual list that recognizes celebrities who have used their star power for positive social change.
Swift’s $50,000 donation to a young girl who had to miss one of her shows to undergo treatment for leukemia was one of the kind actions that shot her to top of 2015’s top 20. The singer has also given $50,000 to the Seattle Symphony, another $50,000 to her backup dancer’s baby nephew who is fighting cancer and donated 25,000 books to classrooms in New York City in the past year.
In second place is Miley Cyrus, who launched the Happy Hippie Foundation this year, an organization that helps put the spotlight on homeless youths, LGBTQ youths and other vulnerable populations.
Beyoncé and Angelina Jolie continue to chart high on the list, maintaining their reputations as constant and tireless champions for those less fortunate than themselves, with Beyoncé’s support for Baltimore protesters and Jolie’s work with Syrian refugees receiving special mention.
WWE superstar John Cena hits No. 5 on the list this year for granting an all-time record number of wishes via the Make-A-Wish organization — more than 460 in total!
Zendaya and Viola Davis were both recognized by DoSomething.org for using their platforms to call out racial injustice and negative representation in the media at this year’s Oscars and Emmy ceremonies.
And Amy Schumer and Caitlyn Jenner are newcomers to the list in 2015 — Schumer for her work to promote stricter gun-control legislation and Jenner for raising awareness of transgender issues after her very public transition.
