Happy homecoming! Teen Mom 2’s Javi Marroquin had an emotional reunion with stepson Isaac, 6, and 2-year-old son Lincoln, whom he shares with estranged wife Kailyn Lowry, when he recently came home from his deployment in the Air Force.
Marroquin — who had been stationed in Qatar since January — took to Instagram on Monday, August 1, to share the heartwarming moment with his 1 million followers.
“My world in one picture,” the proud dad, 23, captioned a pic of himself hugging Isaac — who’s holding a handmade “Welcome Home” sign — as Lincoln looks on with a wide smile. An MTV cameraman stands in the corner, presumably filming the touching interaction for the next season of TM2.
(Lowry shares custody of Isaac with ex Jo Rivera, who also appears on the hit MTV docuseries.)
During the June 20 reunion episode of Teen Mom 2, the mom of two — who announced in March that she was filing for divorce from Marroquin — revealed that her firstborn son’s attachment to the military man has made their split all the more heartbreaking.
“That’s a huge reason why I think we’re still together,” she said at the time. “Because Isaac, I mean, he calls Javi ‘dad.’ So yeah, that plays a big factor. I think about my mom … I probably had about eight stepdads as a kid.”
Marroquin added: “[Isaac’s] my best friend. I want to be in this marriage,” he said. “I want all of us to be together. But her mind is set, and when her mind is set, there’s no changing it.”
Although Lowry stated that she intends to dissolve their nearly four-year marriage, the reality personality, 24, welcomed her estranged hubby back home with a sweet message via social media.
Sharing Marroquin’s same photo, the Pride Over Pity author wrote: “Welcome back! @javim9.”
