Gia Giudice is a glass-half-full kind of girl. Though the 13-year-old aspiring singer — and eldest daughter of The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice — isn't looking forward to seeing her parents go off to prison, she has faith nonetheless that their family will be stronger because of it.
"Honestly, obviously, any news that is hurtful or horrible to hear is so upsetting. But my family is probably one of the strongest families I know, so we'll get through this," Gia told Access Hollywood of her mom's upcoming 15-month term behind bars for fraud, which will be followed by her father's 41-month term on similar charges. "It's gonna be fine. And when it's over, we're gonna be better than ever."
In the meantime, Gia is throwing herself into her band, 3KT, which she formed with pals Alexa Maetta, 16, and Christianna Cardinale, 14. The trio released their first music video back in October: a cover of Britney Spears' "Circus" that raised more than a few eyebrows with its skimpy outfits and risque choreography.
"We obviously got our parents' approval," Gia told Access of the boundary-pushing clip. "I personally don't think [the outfits] were that bad."
She added: "My parents think it's fun. My mom was there every step of the way. And when my dad saw it, he was like, 'Nice, Gia.' I just want to make them proud. That's all that matters."
To that end, she and her bandmates are already hard at work on their next video. They launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, and are hoping to raise $7,500 by Dec. 12.
"3KT loves our fans! We want to give you an awesome original Christmas music video in time for the holiday!" a message on their Kickstarter page reads.
"We were born to perform and entertain, and we are so lucky to be able to do this in such a big way," the message continues. "We want to empower and inspire other young performers to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS AND NEVER GIVE UP."
