It got very real, very fast. Teresa Giudice reveals in her new tell-all memoir, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, that her prison cell was nicknamed “Boom Boom Room” because her fellow inmates often had sex there.
As previously reported, in December the Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 43, was released from prison after serving 11 months. She had been interred at the Danbury Federal Correctional Institution in Connecticut for fraud charges.
Giudice’s time behind bars was nothing like her glamorous lifestyle in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. She revealed that on her first day she was strip-searched and told to squat, stick out her tongue and cough.
“I wanted to die,” she wrote in her memoir, according to the New York Daily News. She was also ordered to hand over her rhinestone jacket and black leggings.
But it got worse. On day two, Giudice — labeled “Hollywood” by other inmates — heard cellmates having sex.
“[It was a] muffled sound,” she recalled. “I could see two women … writhing around … I cannot believe this is happening!”
Giudice tried to concentrate on other things in prison — like her husband, Joe Giudice. (Joe, 43, will begin his 41-month sentence in March at the Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey.) "Madonna mia, I was dreaming of my husband,” she said, via NYDN. She reportedly even sent him a dirty Father’s Day card that featured drawings of sexual positions.
Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again hits shelves on Tuesday, February 9.
