The business analyst, 28, who found love with Lauren Bushnell on season 20 of the ABC dating show, has already launched his official campaign website. The Denver resident has been consulting some well-known Colorado politicians about his potential run for House District 4 and would run as a Republican, The Colorado Independent reports.

“Thank you for your support as Ben explores his opportunities to make a positive impact on his local community!” his website reads, along with an email list to join to receive updates on his journey.

The seat Higgins is running for is currently held by scandal-plagued Democrat and Speaker Pro Tempore Dan Pabon, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI this past St. Patrick’s Day. The Republicans have already nominated Willie Pinkston to run, but he says he’d drop out if Higgins joined the race since he has a baby on the way and a business to run. “I definitely plan on stepping aside,” he told The Independent of endorsing the Bachelor hunk. “I’d be happy to.”

While he’s campaigning, he’ll also have a wedding to plan! After the reality star gave his final rose to Bushnell, 25, she moved to Denver to be with her future husband. A source previously told Us Weekly that the couple plan to get married soon and tape the nuptials for an ABC special. “We want to share our life with everyone who’s been supportive, and that includes Bachelor Nation,” flight attendant Bushnell told Us in March. “We haven’t discussed places, let alone, like, a date, but my parents are in Portland [Oregon]. I was born and raised there. I don’t think that Ben or myself would rule anything out at this point, and Portland has some of the best summers.”
