The New Yorker reported that Notaro was wearing a gray sports jacket, a pink button-down shirt, and jeans during the set. She started to undress toward the end of her bit while discussing the time a TSA agent thought she was in the wrong line during a pat-down. Two years ago, Notaro famously revealed she had cancer during a gig shortly after being diagnosed. She had a double mastectomy and decided not to have reconstructive surgery.

"She didn't feel any boobs, and she didn't feel a bra," Notaro said Thursday night. "She looked up at my face, really drank it in. Apparently that didn’t help." She added: "I knew all I had to do was talk. She'd hear my voice and she would know that I'm female. But I really didn't want to help her."

Notaro then began to take her top off, and was interrupted by a "Whooo!" catcall of sorts from the audience. "You know, it's funny," she responded. "I was going to do this show with my shirt off, anyway. I'm about one more 'Whooo' away from going topless."

Notaro was half-naked on stage for 20 minutes. According to the New Yorker, she received a standing ovation, buttoned up, and swiftly made her way to the lobby after the set.

The daring comic has made headlines before for her stand-up material. Back in 2012, she revealed at West Hollywood's Largo on 3 that she had pneumonia at the time and was suffering from a life-threatening infection from the prescribed antibiotics she was given. Notaro told the audience that a week after she got out of the hospital, her 65-year-old mother hit her head and died. She also did another performance on the same day she was diagnosed with cancer.
