Tom Cruise shows no signs of ever turning down a mission. The action star, 53, revealed in a new interview with Jon Stewart that more Mission: Impossible movies are already in the works.
Cruise stopped by the Daily Show this week, catching up with Stewart before Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the fifth in the series, arrives in theaters on Friday, July 31.
Nearly 20 years after the debut of 1996's original Mission: Impossible movie, the now-middle-aged actor is still hanging off airplanes and doing many of his own stunts for the thrillers.
"Mission is the first film I ever produced, the very first Mission about 20 years ago," Cruise told Stewart, looking back on his career. "It was 20… about 19 years, and I guess maybe 20 years ago I started it… It goes like that."
Two decades of Mission is still not enough for Cruise, as he told Stewart, 52, that he is already gearing up for Mission: Impossible 6.
"Now this is the fifth one," Cruise continued. "It's pretty amazing because it's the one, I thought, if I could keep making these kinds of movies… We're starting to work on [the sixth] now. We'll probably start shooting it next summer."
