Taylor Frankie Paul could be returning to Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 5.
“The producers and cast have welcomed Taylor to return to this year’s filming,” a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. “It is still unclear whether she will come back this year, but she is expected to be back in the future.”
News broke on Tuesday, April 21, that the Hulu series will resume production following its recent pause. According to the insider, the show’s team respects that Taylor is “prioritizing her family and mental health as she recovers from this relationship” with ex Dakota Mortensen.
While “the door is open” for Taylor to come back, the source tells Us she’s “focused on her mental health” following recent events.
“She does want to return at some point,” the insider adds, noting that the timing is uncertain.
A second source says there have been “conversations” with the network about Taylor returning “next season” instead.
“They are still working out what that looks like for her, but Taylor has expressed she will be back,” the second insider adds.
Dakota, meanwhile, “will not be involved” in the show moving forward.
“The network wants to keep them separate and not perpetuate a toxic relationship,” the second source explains.
Taylor has been a main cast member on Mormon Wives since the show debuted in 2024. Her relationship ups and downs with Dakota have been one of the series’ main story lines.
Earlier this year, production was paused on season 5 following an alleged incident between Taylor and Dakota that took place in February. The two filed temporary restraining orders against each other, which resulted in Dakota getting custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever. Taylor was granted supervised visitation for the time being.
Authorities have confirmed that Taylor will not be charged for the incident. (Both Taylor and Dakota have continued to release public statements.)
Amid the legal back and forth, a video surfaced last month from a previous altercation with Dakota in 2023. ABC subsequently pulled Taylor’s Bachelorette season days before it was scheduled to premiere.
Taylor previously hinted at her future on Mormon Wives after it was reported that neither she nor Dakota would return for season 5.
“Interesting, that’s not the call I got,” she replied on social media.
As for rumors that Taylor was offered a place on the next season of Dancing With the Stars, the first source tells Us she was “not booked” and “there were no discussions” about her being cast.
