Zoe Saldana Says Boycotting Dolce and Gabbana Would Be “the Stupidest Thing”

Zoe Saldana will not be boycotting Dolce & Gabbana over their "synthetic" baby comments.

Not all celebs are holding Dolce & Gabbana comments about “synthetic” babies against them. While many stars, including Elton John, Andy Cohen, Madonna, and Ryan Murphy are boycotting the brand, Zoe Saldana has no intention on ditching her Dolce.

“That would be the stupidest thing if it affected my fashion choice,” Saldana told E! News at the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards. “People are allowed to their own opinion, however, I wouldn’t have chosen to be so public about something that’s such a personal thing.”

The new mom of twins Cy and Bowie, 36, has a unique perspective when it comes to the Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, considering she married artist Marco Perego in June 2013.

“My husband is from Italy, and if I judged him based on the words that he misuses in our English language he wouldn’t be here today,” she said. “It’s like look people, have a drink, relax, it’s okay.”

The designer team and former couple offended many stars with their comments in Italy’s Panorama magazine.

“You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be,” Dolce said in the interview. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”

Saldana understands that the topic is extremely sensitive, but thinks the pair’s apology has been sufficient.

“Obviously it caused some sensitivity, but then again if you continue to follow the news, you see they all kinda hugged it out, so why are we making a big deal about it?” she continued. “I’m certainly not going to stop wearing Dolce, and I’m certainly not going to be refuting when they are adopting synthetic children, however they wanted to say it. I do think things are lost in translation.”
