The Price Is Right host was a sergeant with U.S. Marine Corps, and served from 1980 to 1986.

The actor had a long military career before becoming part of Hollywood. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1990 to 2013, served in the Kosovo and Afghanistan wars, and also attained the rank of lieutenant colonel.

The late Golden Girls actress served in the Marine Corps starting in 1943 at the age of 21, and was one of the first members of the Women’s Reserve. She worked as a truck driver and typist.

The late musician enlisted in the army in May 1961, where he completed paratrooper training. He was honorably discharged in June 1962.

The acclaimed actor joined the Marine Corps after the 9/11 attacks served in the U.S. Air Force as an automatic tracking radar repairman from 1955 to 1959. He even turned down a drama scholarship to enlist.

The Star Wars actor signed up for the U.S. Marine Corps in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks. He attained the rank of lance corporal, but was medically discharged after serving less than three years due to a mountain biking accident that left him with a shattered sternum.

The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll began his time in the U.S. Army in March 1958. He was stationed in Germany – where he connected with Priscilla Beaulieu, who later became his wife – from October 1958 until March 2, 1960. He left active duty a few days later, and was discharged from the Army Reserve in 1964.

The Oscar winner served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1967 to 1975. The actor has said in interviews that while serving, one of his tasks was chipping paint while on a buoy tender, which he considered the worst job.

The “It Wasn’t Me” singer enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1988 and served during the Gulf War. He has said that being the USMC helped prepare him to become a successful musician, which he called “the hardest job in the world.”

The late Playboy founder joined the Army at age 18 in 1944 after graduating from high school. He initially served as a rifleman, and later wrote for a military paper. Hefner was honorably discharged in 1946.
