“When I met Jess, it was undeniable how beautiful she is,” Timberlake gushed in his book. “We were at a surprise party in Hollywood at a speakeasy kind of bar, a private club, and we were standing around in a group of people.”
The singer then revealed he made a “sarcastic comment” that “nobody got except her.” While he didn’t ask for her number that night because he had to “psych” himself up, his friend brought the 7th Heaven alum to one of his concerts in San Diego.

After the duo exchanged numbers, they talked on the phone for two weeks while Timberlake finished his tour. “When I came back from my tour, we spent a month together. After that, I said, ‘I really want to be exclusive.’ And somehow, she said, ‘So do I,’” he explained in the book.

Timberlake revealed his “love-lasting love” for Biel was the inspiration behind his 2013 hit “Mirrors.” “I wrote the song ‘Mirrors’ for my wife. We were living together at the time. We weren’t engaged yet. In fact, it was years before I proposed,” The Social Network star explained. “She’s become a huge influence in my life, and I have such admiration for her. … She’s a very good writer. She’s a poet. She’s a tremendous actor. She’s funny.”
“She changed me. She changed my life,” he continued. “All of that is in ‘Mirrors.’ Not the details. But the way it felt to have my life be touched by her.”

Timberlake recalled Biel texting him to call her right away during his The 20/20 Experience tour. When he FaceTimed her, the actress showed him her positive pregnancy test. “We both started bawling,” he wrote.

After welcoming Silas, the “Say Something” crooner explained that the “small” and “quiet” moments at home mean the most to him. “When my son smiles at me. When my wife looks at me a certain way … These are the moments that are so big in my life now,” Timberlake wrote.

Timberlake made it a point to include Biel on his 2018 album Man of the Woods. “I was writing this album while my wife and I were just getting to know our child, and getting to know each other in this new way,” he wrote. “That’s why I wanted Jess’s voice on the album. She’s almost a narrator, or a voice of consciousness, and she even has her own interlude on the album entitled 'Hers.'"

Timberlake admitted that The Sinner star is “a different person” than when he first met her. “We should say ‘I will’ instead of ‘I do’ when we get married because people constantly change, both physically and mentally,” he wrote. “I’ve watched my wife change. I’ve watched her body change. It’s a temple. It should be worshipped. It should be marveled at. I’m fascinated by her. … I wake up and roll over and look at her, and I’m inspired.”
