Make room on the runway, Ashley Graham! Zach Miko is the newest model crushing the industry’s standards. The 6’6” New Yorker with a 40-inch waist just became the first man to sign with Brawn, the new male plus-size division of IMG Models.
Miko, 26, was recruited by IMG after they found his Instagram, which is chock-full of selfies with his wife and adorable pics of his dog, Brenner. But he already had a head-start before getting recruited. Miko was the face of Target’s big and tall section in 2015 — a feat that even he couldn’t believe at first.
“When you are a man my size, it’s never even considered a possibility,” he told WWD after the agency announced the news on Tuesday, March 15. “So it’s kind of really cool that it has become a possibility and times have changed.”
And while Miko is blazing his own path, he still has the utmost respect for his fellow IMG-er Graham, who became Sports Illustrated’s first curvy swimsuit cover model with the 2016 issue.
“Ashley is a superstar,” he told WWD. “She changed the conversation of what beauty is. If I can do only a fraction of what she does, I will be so honored.”
