Designing in action!
Karlie Kloss‘ Met Gala 2016 gown was literally cut into a minidress for the after party in NYC on Monday, May 2.
To give her legs a little extra freedom for dancing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala 2016’s afterparty at The Standard High Line in Manhattan, designer Brandon Maxwell whipped out the scissors and eyeballed it.
The model, 23, posted a video of the entire scene via Instagram. “Soooo…instead of changing into a #MetGala Afterparty dress, @BrandonMaxwell cut my gown into mini ✂️🙈,” she captioned the vid.
To make matters a little more tricky, Maxwell wasn’t exactly sober at the time. “OK, we’re drinking and cutting,” he admits in the clip.
Watching the up-and-coming stylist and designer, who created Lady Gaga‘s Emmys and Oscars ensembles, Kloss stands back and hopes for the best. “This is a bad idea,” Kloss warns. “Or maybe it’s brilliant, I don’t know!”
What do you think of the end result?
